This period of global pandemic has underscored the importance of the foundation of our ‘Total Well-Being’ initiative that we began as part of our NEASC accreditation journey two years ago: that student well-being is fundamental to our students’ successful learning and socio-emotional development, our commitment to nurture, empower and inspire our youth to become leaders within their communities is at the core of what we do.
What matters most.
Having a strong foundation enables us to focus on what matters most – the learning and wellbeing of our students.
It takes character.
Learning resources and experiential opportunities stimulate the love of learning and promote students’ responsibility in their own character development as they experience new dimensions of respect and accountability.
To support the continued growth and development of our learning community during these challenging times, I am pleased to share with you a few updates:
- To strengthen our eLearning delivery capacity, which includes both distance learning and eLearning resources within the school’s face to face classrooms, our Board approved, implemented, and is nearing completion of a premium IT network upgrade.
- The first break period of each day has been restructured to include activities that are integrated with specific social development skills and aligned with targeted curriculum standards.
- A weekly Wellness curriculum will be offered as part of the PE classes starting during term 2.
- Wellness Ambassadors, wearing green vests to be readily identifiable, have been engaged with our students and staff ensuring both understanding and adherence to all precautionary measures required to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our learning community.
These activities and others are all designed to support your precious children’s learning, social development, and ultimately, their career goals as successful global citizens.
In the meantime, should anyone have a suggestion, need, or concern that you’d like addressed related to well-being, we’d be happy to hear from you by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
In closing, I want to thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to nurture a vibrant and engaging learning experience for your children. Together, “we can” stay healthy and make the best of each new day for ourselves and our families.
